SPARKLES NIGHT!

Good afternoon!

We are looking forward to our first Spirit Night of the year at Sparkles, tomorrow, Thursday, August 25 from 4-8 PM. This event is a PTA membership drive – meaning those who already are PTA members, get in for free. Those who aren’t, can purchase a PTA membership at the door and get free skate and play access (per person). It really is a great deal for families! We will be giving out the Golden Skate Award to the class who has the highest attendance at tomorrow’s Spirit Night. Your class will get the honor of displaying the Golden Skate for a week plus a small prize! We encourage all students to attend if they can. They will have cafe specials, a free birthday party giveaway and discounted laser tag – special for KES families! We look forward to seeing everyone there and thank you for your continued support of PTA!

Regards,

Jennifer Kenny, Co-President, Kennesaw Elementary PTA

Fun Run Message

Message from Kennesaw Elementary PTA
(Please refer to the PTA website for more information)
The Kennesaw Elementary Fun Run kicked off yesterday with an exciting Pep Rally, and we are thrilled about this year’s program! We’ve asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run program (which will last about two weeks), making our fundraising simpler, more profitable, and more fun. Our Fun Run includes all students in a fun, team-building, fitness event while helping our school raise much-needed funds.
This year, our entire school is raising funds for Classroom Improvements. Our goal is to raise $35,000, and we need YOUR help!
Here’s how you can support Kennesaw Elementary:
  • Register your student on funrun.com. To log in pledges, please register your child on funrun.com, using our school’s registration code: 782-498. Students receive a FREE GIFT just by having their parent or guardian register them on funrun.com.
  • Reach out to sponsors. Connect with 10 sponsors. You can use social media in the pledging process and even create custom videos—all of this is on funrun.com. Be sure to capture and record each sponsor’s e-mail address. They will also have an easy opportunity to pay for your student’s pledge by credit card online.
  • Ask your child about the BACKYARD BOX OFFICE Character Act of the day! This year’s character theme is Backyard Box Office, a movie theme about making a difference by getting into character. Watch the fun videos with your child on funrun.com.
  • Come to the Fun Run Next Friday! All students are invited to participate, regardless of financial participation. Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps, and we would love for you to come out and cheer.
Thank you for supporting our school. We hope to see you next week at the Fun Run!

Open House Thank you!

Dear Parents,

I would like to thank the parents who were able to attend our Open House last night. If you were not able to attend, I have sent home a packet of information. Inside that packet there are 2 forms that have to be returned to school. The first form is a volunteer form, the 2nd form is a directory/remind form.
Today you will find sight words, baggy books and homework in your child’s binder. The 5 star homework is due by Thursday. The baggy books are due by Friday. It is important for your child to bring them back so they can check out new books, and also have the opportunity to read with a friend. The sight words will be tested on Friday and new lists will be sent home if the old list has been mastered. Thank you!
Please sign on to www.funrun.comit is our school’s only PTA fundraiser. If you sign on and register your child. They can earn a fun run bracelet. You do not have to pledge any money to register your child. 🙂 The students enjoy getting the reward.
Next week:
Reading: Daily 5 procedures
Writing: Writing Workshop/Narratives
Math: Number Sense/Data
Phonics: Review
Science: Weather
Our Fun Run is on Friday! You can come and join us on the field! More details to come!

We would just like to have 100% attendance.
