Birthday And Next Week

Thank you so much for my un-birthday party today! I had so much fun celebrating the cookie cake with my kiddos today. I love everything!

I can’t thank you enough for all that you do for me!

ALL Library books are due next Friday! If you have lost your books you will need to pay for the missing book. Just let me know and I can ask Ms. Finnegan for a replacement cost. J That money is also due next Friday. If everyone turns in their books on time (or pay for them) we get entered into a drawing to have a fun hour with Ms. Finnegan! YAY!

 

SLO testing- all next week (Mon. Tues. and Fri. for our class)

 

We will continue baggie books and sight words for two more weeks. We have some kiddos that are very close to passing the next level and completing their First Grade sight word lists! We can do it!

 

Please sign and return 1 copy of the progress report that went home today. Your child will get a Dojo point for reminding you! J

May 18th– 1st grade picnic (fun outside lunch time with our friends)

May 19th– 4th quarter Awards (morning)

Ice Cream Reading reward party (afternoon) * my treat for the class

May 24th and 25th – Early Release days

May 25th Last Day of School

Next Week

I can’t believe we are at the end of April next week! A couple of items- No 5 star homework, but… there is a reading program we are doing instead. The reward for reading 12 books by May 16th is an ICE CREAM party! Please see this form in your child’s folder today. I will continue to send home baggie books to help with this challenge and we will also continue sight words next week.

 

A couple of things need to be turned in-

  1. Green registration form- EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT RETURNING TO KES I NEED YOUR FORM- Just mark across the top “NOT RETURNING”
  2. White ½ sheet for the 1st grade picnic day. This form tells me whether your child will need a bag lunch or will be bringing one from home.

BOTH of these forms are due back ASAP! Your child will be rewarded on the DOJO for reminding you!

 

Next week is Field Day week-

  1. Monday is Opening Ceremonies @1:00 in the bus port. Please send in a towel for your child to sit on during the ceremony. It gets hot on the black top!
  2. Wednesday is our Field Day (all day)- PLEASE wear sneakers and the following color shirt. This helps our volunteers identify the teams easier.

Blue- Amarylis, Zion, Kathryn, Alex, Gage, Marly

Yellow- Gabrielle, Gavin, Layla, Zach, Eva

Weekly update

I’ve attached the 5 star homework. I have also printed it and put it in your child’s folder. This is the last 5 star homework this year. After next week we will start on an Ice Cream Reading challenge. More information on this will be forthcoming.

Field Day is looking for volunteers- a flyer went home this week!

 

Maybe I will see you at the Big Shanty festival in Kennesaw! Stop by Boy Scout Troop 510 for something yummy to eat and wave to Mr. Grecko and my son Alex. If you catch the parade in the morning, wave to my oldest daughter Hannah she will be marching with her clarinet in the Allatoona Band.
