Next Week- No April Foolin’ :)

I would really like to see more students do the 5 star homework. Now that we are in the final 9 weeks of school it is good practice for them to do more to get prepared for 2nd grade. Don’t forget that anyone who turns in the 5 star homework gets a treat! Attached to the 5 star homework is additional work with Subtraction too. It’s time to review all those strategies!

Five-Star Tiered Homework 3-24-16-Grecko Edition

Please do not forget to turn in your child’s report card signature card (white) with your signature, and to send back the brown envelope with your address and stamp attached. We will use these envelopes to mail you your child’s final report card.

Next Friday is Cultural Arts Day! We will be eating lunch in our rooms and will have a completely different schedule that day.

Thank you to all who donated snacks, tissues and sanitizer. I think we have enough tissues and sanitizer. Snacks look good for now. If we need more I will let you know.

A flyer regarding the dental bus went home today. If you could, please return that form. If you have a dentist write “I HAVE A DENTIST” on top. If your child does not have a dentist then please fill out the form. We can earn a pizza party if we have the most forms turned in!  Remember you don’t have to sign up. Just return the form.

This is another reminder that we are collecting and currently are in the lead for First Grade for Box Tops for Education. Please send in any tops you might have. Word has it that Ms. Kulkarni’s class is closing in…

A few folders and backpacks are looking a bit full and could benefit from a clean out! I even saw a plant cup still in a backpack yesterday! Yikes!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

This Week~

Dear Parents,

Wow! We had a fun week learning with Dr. Seuss. We had some great book character costumes today. I’ve attached next week’s 5 star homework. We will be studying plants, writing opinions, adding 2 digit numbers by 1’s and 10’s, practicing vowel teams oa and ow, plus reading, reading, and more reading!

Thank you so much for supporting our class. Please practice your sight words, read those baggie books and drill those facts.

Reading logs are due next week. Each log turned in gets a chance to win a gift certificate to the book fair!

I will be posting some more pictures from our character parade and cat in the hat treat today on Bloomz.

I hope you have a great weekend,

Donna Grecko
